Faraday Copper is a growth oriented Canadian junior mining company focused on responsibly advancing our flagship development stage project in Arizona, through our subsidiary company, Redhawk Copper. With a highly energetic and collaborative team, we are committed to building a modern mining operation grounded in operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and strong community partnerships.


Faraday recently announced it has entered into definitive agreement to acquire BHP’s San Manuel property in Arizona, creating the potential for a multi-asset copper complex in the USA. As we transition from exploration to project development, we are seeking a strategic and hands-on Civil Project Engineer to build and lead this function in Arizona.


The Civil Project Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and execution of major transportation and civil infrastructure projects that support Faraday Copper's Arizona operations. This role oversees the development and delivery of critical infrastructure, including bridge corridors, roadways, floodplain improvements, drainage systems, and other civil works, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.


The Civil Project Engineer collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, engineering consultants, contractors, and government agencies to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, permitting, and construction activities from concept through commissioning. The position plays a key role in supporting the successful development and operation of Faraday Copper's Arizona assets through the delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of river bridge crossing projects and all related infrastructure.
  • Manage engineering studies including feasibility, alternatives analysis, preliminary engineering, and detailed design.
  • Coordinate bridge, roadway, drainage, geotechnical, structural, hydrologic, and environmental engineering activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, and design packages.
  • Support development of capital cost estimates, schedules, and project execution plans.
  • Ensure civil infrastructure designs meet applicable federal, state, county, and industry standards.
  • Support permitting efforts with federal, state, county, and local agencies.
  • Coordinate floodplain, environmental, and right-of-way permit applications.
  • Interface with agencies including Pinal County Flood Control District, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
  • Assist with environmental studies, baseline programs, and technical documentation required for permitting approvals.
  • Manage external engineering consultants and specialty contractors.
  • Develop scopes of work, request-for-proposal packages, and contract documentation.
  • Support construction planning and execution activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedules, budgets, and construction quality.
  • Conduct field inspections and verify compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Manage project changes, risk assessments, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project updates for management.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company HSE standards.
  • Ensure project activities comply with environmental and regulatory obligations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in civil engineering, transportation infrastructure, bridge engineering, or major capital projects.
  • Experience managing engineering consultants and construction contractors.
  • Knowledge of roadways, bridge, drainage, floodplain, and earthworks design principles.
  • Experience with project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles in remote and rugged terrain.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States, or the ability to achieve authorization without financial support of the Company
