Job description

Job Title:  Engineering Technician

Job Summary:  The Engineering Technician is responsible for providing support with day-to-day manufacturing issues, waste reduction initiatives and new product launches in a CNC machining facility.

Responsibility: 

  • Provide technical support for production floor.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues.

  • Support Tool Setters in dialing in machines after changes, as required

  • Complete tool life studies, sample product, and tooling, as required.

  • Read and interpret part prints for rough castings and finished machined parts.

  • Support new tooling trials and improve existing tooling for machining processes.

  • Monitor shop floor practices.

  • Aid in cell installation.

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers as needed.

  • Perform miscellaneous activities as requested by Management.

  • Travel to other plants required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Required Skills/Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a CNC machining environment.

Previous experience and proficiency in CNC machine operations, tool setting and making CNC tool height adjustments

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Blueprint reading skills

Attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.

Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Act with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
