Manhattan Customer Engineering is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its team as an Engineering Supervisor. The successful candidate must be energetic and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to our Code of Conduct and The Way We Work. Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Supervises Designers and other subordinate titled personnel in the design, reinforcement and expansion of the electrical distribution systems for new business projects.
  • Provides instruction and guidance in the development of service determinations and construction layouts.
  • Reviews progress of various projects to ensure their completion in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensures that technical and customer excellence are the highest priorities when developing methods of supplying new or additional loads.
  • Responsible for the on-going evaluation of employee performance to ensure adherence to Company design specifications/guidelines, meets and/or exceeds productivity expectations.
  • Provides individual and supervisory engineering support during distribution system contingency.
  • Evaluates engineering and other computer applications for their usefulness in providing better utilization of human resources and more efficient and economical operation.
  • Certify engineering designs, drawings and field prepared layouts on proposed new business capital projects.
  • Ensures compliance with collective bargaining contract and participates in Union negotiations at the first line level.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years full-time relevant work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Knowledge of Electric Operations, which includes equipment, cable and splicing, associated with underground and/or overhead installation and associated construction standards. Required
  • Experience with distribution electrical equipment. Required
  • Supervisory experience. Preferred
  • Understanding of the Work Management System and Logica software. Preferred
  • Distribution Engineering experience including distribution design, computerized layout design, company mapping systems, DOC's estimating, budget preparation and PVL.Preferred

Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Walking, climbing, driving and site visits are required.
