Job description

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Engineering Project Specialist in Richmond, Virginia. The Engineering Project Specialist is responsible for supporting the coordination, status reporting, and stability of Power Systems Engineering projects that have significant and direct impact on the priorities of Carter Machinery and Power Systems. Seeking candidates with previous service related experience; High school diploma or equivalent.
Requirements for the Engineering Project Specialist position include:
  • Manage processes for production on engineering department finished goods.
  • Provide business ideas and advice for improving business growth in engineering space.
  • Work with CAT and appropriate personnel to push items through. Monitor process on a daily/weekly basis. On a daily basis coordinate and schedule projects to be executed with service operations team.
  • Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to communicate, interact and network with Carter Machinery personnel throughout the company.
  • Strong computer and internet research skills. Must be proficient with MS-Office products.
  • Work with Sales Operations and Marketing teams on related projects and tasks.
  • Must be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Promote a positive customer experience.

Physical requirements must be met for the Engineering Project Specialist job, including regularly being required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.
