What you will do
The MV/LV Electrical Engineering Project Manager acts on behalf of the Engineering Department to ensure that the MV/LV Electrical Execution Engineering group provides consistent, high-quality, cost-effective, and timely deliverables and products for the construction of wind, solar and storage energy facilities. Oversee, guide, and manage the design efforts of third-party consultants directly or through an EPC contractor. Additionally promote environmental stewardship and a health and safety-focused culture within the Electrical Engineering group. Additional responsibilities include providing support to operating facilities as needed.
Role Overview:
Main responsibilities:
• Act as a subject matter expert regarding medium and low voltage, AC and DC systems design for wind, solar, and battery storage facilties
• Ensure MV/LV electrical design complies with all EDPR, ISO, utility, regional electrical entity, environmental, health & safety, project local authority, and industry code and standard requirements
• Design deliverables include collection system design drawings for wind, solar, and battery storage plants, short circuit study, reactive power and load flow study, grounding study, loss study, cable ampacity study, DC arc flash study, power plant controller and SCADA rack design, inverter settings, special plant modelling and system tuning analyses
• Drive design innovation and optimization to ensure reduction in overall project costs to maximize power purchase agreement award potential
• Direct and manage engineering consultants directly, or through an EPC contractor, to insure all design deliverables are provided in a timely manner to maintain project schedule
• Drive and coordinate project planning and engineering activities with internal clients including Construction, Operations, Development, Environmental, Estimating, Energy Assessment, Health & Safety, Procurement, Legal, and Central Technical Direction to facilitate interdepartmental relations
• Attend monthly project construction meetings to maintain current knowledge of project status and to provide support and to coordinate with site team to resolve critical and time-sensitive construction-related electrical issues
• Collaborate with Development Engineering team with preliminary internal engineering needed to support the Development pipeline and to ensure a smooth EPC contract handoff.
• Coordinate with procurement team to procure project equipment by creating datasheets, reviewing technical proposals and equipment drawings, and attend equipment factory acceptance tests as needed
• Support with periodic reviews and modifications of internal engineering design guidelines to maintain and capture the best practices and lessons learned into project designs. Drive accountability across internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Manage expectations and communicate project risks, constraints, opportunities, and decisions effectively.
• Facilitate resolution of conflicts and competing priorities among stakeholders. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, execution, and organizational effectiveness.
• Capture lessons learned and implement process improvements across future projects.
• Develop and maintain project metrics, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools.
• Utilize Power BI, AI-enabled tools, Procore, Terabase, Microsoft Project, Planner, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint to improve execution and collaboration.
• Support digital transformation initiatives, workflow automation, and data-driven decision making.
• Support operating facilities

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
    • 7+ years of design and engineering experience
    • 1 - 2 years of engineering project management experience
    • Utility-scale renewable experience preferred
    • Ability to manage the work of third party consultants and service contracts
    • Professional Engineering (PE) licensureExperience supporting projects through development, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations.
    • Experience with Microsoft Project, Planner, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
    • Experience with Procore and Terabase platforms.
    • Experience developing Power BI dashboards and performance reporting.
    • Experience applying AI tools to improve engineering workflows, reporting, and project execution.
