ENERCON's Data Center Mission Critical Group is seeking a Principal Engineering Project Manager to join the team. In this dynamic role, you will lead engineering projects, collaborate with technical teams to create detailed proposals, and manage all aspects of project execution, including schedules, risk management, and financial health. You'll drive client satisfaction through effective communication, high-quality deliverables, and strong relationship-building, while overseeing the work of engineers, designers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes. This position can be based in one of the following locations:

  • Project Leadership: Lead projects by collaborating with technical colleagues to develop detailed engineering proposals, managing schedules, and executing recovery plans when needed
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive work plans, risk management strategies, communication plans, and work breakdown structures to ensure smooth project execution
  • Scheduling & Financial Management: Oversee project schedules, apply advanced scheduling tools, and manage the financial health of projects, ensuring timely reporting and performance tracking
  • Team & Resource Management: Manage engineers, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring quality deliverables, while supporting internal standards and resource management
  • Client & Business Development: Maintain strong client relationships, manage project scope, and support marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and identifying new opportunities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR PMP Certification and 10 years experience in engineering consulting, project manager or data center
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a project manager or engineer with an engineering consulting firm doing data center projects
  • PMP certification preferred
  • The ideal candidate has worked with a hyperscale data center directly or indirectly as a consultant, which is required
  • Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review
  • Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously
  • Knowledge in earned value management and progress reporting
  • Experienced in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review
  • Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes
  • Strong coordination and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and write technically and coherently
  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel between 10%-15% of the time which may include fieldwork; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs

Compensation Range
USD $140,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
