Duties, Responsibilities & Other
KCI Technologies is seeking a Facades Engineering Project Manager to join our growing building envelope and structures team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys managing technically complex façade systems, collaborating across disciplines, and serving as a trusted partner to clients from concept through construction.
As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of façade engineering projects, balancing technical rigor with clear communication and strong project controls.
  • Manage façade engineering projects from concept design through construction administration
  • Coordinate and oversee the design and analysis of façade systems, including curtain wall, window wall, cladding, glazing, waterproofing, and enclosure assemblies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams
  • Lead project planning, including scope development, schedules, budgets, and resource coordination
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and field observations to support constructability and performance requirements
  • Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, and building science professionals to resolve design and field issues
  • Support construction administration activities, including site visits, issue resolution, and reporting
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers as part of project teams
  • Contribute to proposals, fee development, and business development efforts as needed

Specialized Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in façade engineering, building envelope consulting, or related design/construction roles is preferred
  • Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong technical background in façade systems, materials, and performance considerations
  • Familiarity with building codes, standards, and industry best practices related to façades and enclosures
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and project partners
  • Experience with site observations, construction coordination, and problem-solving in the field

Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent
professional experience.
• Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
• Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
• Deep technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.
• Expertise in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and
documentation.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
• Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
• Strong comprehension of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
• Master's Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
• Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
