Job description

Tectonic is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager to join our dynamic Energy team, working on renewable power, battery storage, and advanced energy projects nationwide.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong leadership and project management skills to contribute to innovative power projects - from conceptual design through construction - while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Manager will lead and oversee electrical engineering and design activities for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include:
  • Managing all phases of electrical design and coordination for complex projects, including combined cycle, battery storage, fuel cell, and aeroderivative turbine systems;
  • Developing design criteria, single-line diagrams, protection and metering diagrams, and equipment specifications;
  • Performing and reviewing power system studies using ETAP or similar tools;
  • Leading project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination;
  • Reviewing vendor proposals, bid evaluations, and providing recommendations;
  • Mentoring junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work for quality and technical accuracy;
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and international electrical codes and standards;
  • Supporting construction teams through design clarifications, site visits, and technical troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a valid Professional Engineering License;
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, including leadership of medium-to-large EPC or renewable energy projects;
  • Strong understanding of generator systems, HV/MV/LV switchgear, transformers, SCADA systems, and industrial power distribution;
  • Proficiency in ETAP or similar power system analysis software;
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients;
  • Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings.
  • Requires a valid, clean driver's license, as travel to job sites will be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is often required to assume a stationary position, and regularly perform tasks that require the handling, inspection, and/or feeling of documents, materials, and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. Occasionally, the employee will need to move around on the job-site, sometimes while lifting and/or moving equipment up to 25 lbs and/or in hazardous weather conditions. The employee must be able to safely operate a motor-vehicle, in which they may be required to remain stationary for a prolonged period of time. They must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others using the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and conferencing systems. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job. PAY RANGE
Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitable across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Range: $100,000 - 150,000 / year (final compensation will be determined in good faith based on job-related factors, including experience and geographic location)
