Job description

Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Program Manager I. This is a hybrid role that will take place out of our office in Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh area). We are able to offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates within the United States.
The Program Manager's primary responsibilities are to lead cross-functional project teams on globally integrated new product development programs. Projects will be executed within phased gated process framework. The Program Manager is responsible for managing deliverables across the team to ensure delivery is aligned to committed schedules, cost goals and constraints, and product quality. You will communicate project status across the organization leading their teams to deliver project objectives in support of Eaton's Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB), Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers, Vacuum Interrupters and Meters and Relays (M&R). This role further advances the state of the art of program management and team excellence through meeting continuous improvement objectives.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year.

What you'll do:
  • Actively manages programs from beginning to end. Develops comprehensive program management plans to achieve objectives and meet commitments. Program Management Plan includes Scope, Budget, Business Case, Schedule, Resource, Risk Management, Capital, Communications, etc..
  • Responsible for working with Team members and resource managers to ensure allocations meet program needs and any gaps are identified and effectively mitigated or escalated.
  • Clearly defines scope of work and builds plans to achieve; manages scope challenges and stakeholders.
  • Regularly monitors, communicates, and controls program performance against plan, makes adjustments, and drives clear actions to address gaps.
  • Ensures that all members of the Program Team execute the program plan in adherence with standard phase gate methodology and tools.
  • Understands risk identification and management; proactively mitigates program risks, develops contingency plans and takes advantage of opportunities.
  • Facilitates clear communications with all internal and external stakeholders. Ability to deliver critical messages in a transparent way with a go forward plan. Adjusts approach to match the audience and projects confidence along with the appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with decision-makers, while holding them accountable to their commitments. Recognizes when and how to elevate issues and secure help needed.
  • Drives importance of meeting business & financial commitments across the program team and communicates impact of program/technical decisions on the financials.
  • Applies Decision Quality Framework when appropriate. Analyzes only accurate data and quality assumptions. Considers all stakeholder outcomes for the optimum decision. Balances analysis with timeliness of decision.
  • Provides recognition to team members and ensures that individuals feel that they are an important part of a cohesive team. Leads by example and follows through with commitments. Demonstrates perseverance and remains positive through tough challenges.

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in product development or engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in project management; responsible for schedule, budgets, product quality and risk management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • PMP or equivalent certification

Skills:
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Experienced in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from idea though launch.
  • Experienced in stakeholder management in a matrix organization.
  • Experienced in waterfall methodology, Agile
  • Experienced in product development and stage gate process.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of tools including Microsoft project.
  • Project management and team building skills.
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles with respect to electromechanical devices or systems.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Fully demonstrating to proficient in Project Management methodologies, processes and tools
  • Strong analytical skills and general business acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation aptitude and public speaking experience
  • Detailed planning ability and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and results driven.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and an innovative mind set.
  • Practical experience and understanding of the electrical industry such as construction and industrial markets.
