Engineering Manager and Software Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Engineering Manager with hands-on sof tware engineering and cloud leadership experience supporting both private sector and U.S. government clients. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS GovCloud, secure sof tware development, cybersecurity compliance, and leading cross-functional technical teams. This role will oversee cloud operations, application development, secure deployments, and modernization initiatives across mission-critical systems.
What You'll Work On:
  • Provide technical leadership and direction for cloud engineering and sof tware development teams.
  • Lead complex migration, modernization, and deployment efforts involving COTS and custom-built solutions.
  • Oversee STIG remediation activities, achieving high compliance without impacting application functionality, including FIPS and SELinux enablement.
  • Drive the planning, delivery, and coordination of recurring sof tware releases, ROM estimates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, configuration management, testing, and accessibility teams to ensure secure, compliant releases.
  • Mentor engineering staff through technical guidance, 1:1s, career development, and collaborative team practices.

You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience with sof tware engineering
  • Experience in a leadership or engineering management role
  • Experience in AWS GovCloud environments, cloud operations, and secure deployment practices
  • Experience supporting production systems, performing root cause analysis, and managing release pipelines
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Jenkins, GitLab CI / CD, and Maven, and Linux administration
  • Knowledge of STIGs, SAML 2.0, secure coding practices, and vulnerability remediation
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • DoD 8570.01 M-IAT II Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience supporting U.S. government clients or operating in IL2 or IL5 environments
  • Experience with Agile met hodologies, release management, and cross-team project leadership

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
