Your Role: Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will lead our internal engineering team and drive technical execution across a wide range of commercial and industrial construction projects. This full-time, on-site role is based at our headquarters office in Spindale, NC and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop an 8–10 person engineering team
  • Read and interpret construction documents, drawings, schematics, and designs
  • Design and develop electrical system specifications for commercial and industrial projects
  • Identify and implement engineered solutions to field challenges
  • Promote prefabrication and innovative electrical installation methods
  • Collaborate with project teams to improve installation efficiency and productivity
  • Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, Microsoft Project, Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, and/or ConEst
  • Ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and cost targets
  • Maintain high standards for documentation, quality, and cross-team collaboration

General Requirements (All Levels)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Willingness to relocate to and/or commute to the Spindale, NC office


Experience Levels & Qualifications

This role is open to candidates with varying levels of experience. Final title, scope of responsibilities, and compensation will align with demonstrated skills and leadership capability.


Level I – Engineering Manager

Target Compensation: $110,000 – $125,000

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering field
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license (or ability to obtain within an agreed time frame)
  • 5–7 years of electrical engineering experience in commercial and/or industrial construction
  • Foundational leadership or team coordination experience
  • Proficiency in engineering and construction management software
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Level II – Senior Engineering Manager

Target Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering field
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
  • 7–10 years of progressive electrical engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams or project scopes
  • Experience with project management, estimating, prefabrication, and/or project controls
  • Strong client communication and cross-functional leadership skills


Level III – Lead / Principal Engineering Manager

Target Compensation: $145,000 – $160,000

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering field
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in commercial and/or industrial construction
  • Proven success leading complex, multi-project engineering organizations
  • Deep expertise in prefabrication strategies, project controls, and construction execution
  • Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and partner with executive leadership
