Job description

Grand Design RV is currently sourcing an Engineering Technician to join our Team. As a Grand Design team member in this role, you will partner closely with an experienced engineer to support product design and development efforts. The position assists with new product concepts, engineering design updates, and the creation of prints. The role requires regular presence on the production floor (approximately 20% of the workday) to collaborate with the production team and review product builds.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Assist engineer with new product concepts, design modifications, and the creation of engineering drawings.
  • Participate in product development by following prototype units through the production line and documenting recommended design or process changes.
  • Support the preparation and documentation of Product Change Notices (PCNs).
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs align with build requirements.
  • Adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering or technical experience.
  • Experience with SolidWorks preferred; AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience in the RV industry is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Regular presence on the production floor throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing between 30 and 60 pounds as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to work early hours and maintain scheduling flexibility as needed.
