BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a Quality Engineering Consultant position. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida and work is on-site. The staff augmentation consultants are required to be off the week of Christmas and New Year unless services are required with prior approval from division leadership. Quality Engineering Consultant
Responsibilities:
  • Understand the project requirements and project goals and using that understanding to produce deliverables.
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of system test requirements.
  • Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.
  • Writing test cases/scripts and maintain involvement in test case automation and execution.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
  • Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements.
  • Facilitate test plan review and use case meetings with development teams and key stakeholders.
  • Provide demonstrations on fully tested features for user acceptance testing.
  • Integrate evaluation and improvements into business process to address the business needs.
  • Document all problems and assist in the resolution.
  • Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant.
  • Perform quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed.
  • Participate in conference calls with State and federal stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Research and maintain knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the project/team.

Requirements
Potential candidate must possess the following:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of IT and business experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Quality Assurance technical experience including systems development, testing and/or business experience can substitute for the required education.
  • Minimum 2 years of audit or assessment or other relevant experience.
  • Experience in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers and replication.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements & test plans.
  • Experience & knowledge in technical aspects of software solutions being tested. Business process understanding. Ability to translate technical requirements & test plans.
