Job description

Manufacturing And Operations Consultant

Manufacturing & Operations professionals help our clients achieve their ambitions for digital transformation within their core manufacturing and operations throughout the full lifecycle of their assets. With domain expertise across consulting and technology they unlock new sources of opex and capex efficiency and effectiveness.

Professionals digitize plants, sites and centers by bringing cross-facility operations at scale. Our next generation production and manufacturing methods leverage AI, IoT, automation, wearables, and predictive analytics to enable multi-site plant optimization; to increase production reliability, product quality, worker safety and sustainable operations with a more productive digital workforce.

The work:

  • Support delivery of Industrial and Automotive reinvention, with a focus on realizing complex large scale manufacturing engineering initiatives. This includes transformation of large brownfield plants, design of greenfield plants and preparing for new product launches.
  • Apply a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain value levers specific to the industrial and automotive environments. This includes the implementation of new digital, AI and physical automation technologies.
  • The automation and transformation of material flow inside industrial and automotive plants is of specific importance for this role.
  • Manage projects or workstreams end to end, including scope, planning, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes, while adapting to evolving client priorities.
  • Build and apply industry, functional, and technical knowledge to support client conversations, solution development, and delivery of innovative manufacturing led ways of working.
  • Lead and coordinate diverse, global Accenture teams, providing day to day direction, coaching, and quality oversight, while leveraging AI and digital tools to improve delivery effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships at the manager, director, and senior director levels through clear communication, structured problem solving, and delivery credibility.
  • Collaborate across Accenture Supply Chain & Engineering team to deliver integrated, end to end solutions spanning manufacturing operations, platforms, and supply chain.
  • Contribute to manufacturing focused thought leadership, including client ready materials, points of view, and case examples related to manufacturing transformation, lifecycle integration, and product launch readiness.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of the Industrial and Automotive ecosystem, including key platforms, vendors, and emerging capabilities relevant to operations and execution.
  • Support the evolution of Accenture's Manufacturing reinvention offerings, with opportunities to grow into broader capability, account, or portfolio leadership roles over time.
  • The work could include any of the following processes: Accenture's point of view amongst clients and other key stakeholders, Business process reengineering, Lean six sigma transformation, Manufacturing & Ops Excellence, Asset reliability & performance management, Process reliability, TPM & TQM, Production planning and scheduling, Quality management, Production operations, Inventory & Material handling, Workflow automation, Reporting & Dashboarding, Advance Automation, Process Design & Simulation.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as part of a team focused on manufacturing engineering and material flow in automotive and industrial manufacturing
  • Demonstrated exposure to material flow and manufacturing engineering in automotive/industrial manufacturing plants. Experience with some of the workstreams involved for example: designing material delivery routes, performing 2D/3D simulations, IT/OT integration considerations, PFEP, business case considerations when deploying automated mobile robots (AMRs). Understanding of key vendors, risks, technologies in this space is of critical importance.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with shop floor change management, performance improvement, business case and value management
  • Understanding of related ERP modules
  • Understanding of Plant Control Systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, etc.)
  • Experience with simulation in factory environments
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 4 years' work experience). Industrial or engineering degree is preferred
