Ramboll is seeking motivated and inquisitive candidates to join our Blue Bell, PA or Princeton, NJ office as an Associate Consultant Engineer. We invite you to bring your engineering background into play as you support our Environment and Health division. The ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in environmental, civil or chemical engineering to provide planning and implementation support for diverse environmental remediation projects throughout the region and beyond. The position will be hybrid-based out of Ramboll's Blue Bell, Pennsylvania or Princeton, New Jersey office. The successful candidate will collaborate with numerous teams and will work closely with Professional Engineers, Professional Geologists, and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs). Our team is committed to providing mentorship and skill development as key components for your career advancement. There will be opportunities to engage with Geologists, Environmental Scientists, and other technical experts on a variety of projects mostly within the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York Metropolitan areas.

Job Description

As our new Associate Consultant Engineer, you will be part of an ambitious, diverse, creative, and collaborative investigation and remediation team within our Environment and Health practice. You will help deliver innovative, inspiring, and sustainable solutions that set new standards and make a genuine difference to our clients, the environment, and society. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordinating, and performing field investigations to conduct environmental sampling and pre-design investigations
  • Compiling sampling data, geologic data, survey reports, drawings, plans, aerial photographs, and other data to plan subsequent tasks
  • Performing evaluations of field data/results in the development of technical reports such as work plans, basis of design documents, design reports, cost estimates, and health and safety plans
  • Performing engineering calculations and analysis in support of designs using software, CADD and/or GIS tools, as necessary
  • Developing design drawings and technical specifications
  • Visitation of jobsites, typically in PA, NJ, and NY to gain field experience, broaden background, and develop practical engineering skills. Some overnight and weekend travel may be required
  • Performance of field investigations to assist investigation, design and construction efforts
  • Participation in actively creating and maintaining a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • Familiarity and experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) and/or ArcGIS a plus
  • 0-3 years of relevant technical and field investigation experience (or interest to perform), including but not limited to soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling; soil excavation oversight; well installations and development; subcontractor oversight; remedial activities; and other related techniques under state and federally regulated programs.
  • OSHA 40-hour training and up to date 8-hour refresher or ability to obtain 
  • Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain preferred, on track for PE or LSRP a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively with teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability, creative thinking, and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
  • Good interpersonal skills, customer focus, and strong ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Eagerness to continue learning and a commitment to improvement and professional growth. 
  • The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear PPE on some occasions.

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $60,000 - $75,000.  Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
