Equinox Engineering is a Calgary-based EPCM leader recognized for delivering innovative facility and pipeline design solutions across natural gas, oil, heavy oil, and emerging energy sectors. We work with some of the largest energy producers in Canada and internationally, executing projects from early-stage concept development through to detailed engineering and field support.

We're looking for a Piping Stress Engineer who brings strong technical expertise in piping stress analysis and a passion for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable designs. In this role, you'll support multidisciplinary teams, contribute to complex facility and pipeline projects, and ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.

Technical Execution
  • Perform static and dynamic piping stress analysis using CAESAR II
  • Analyze stress in pressure piping and pipeline systems to ensure code compliance
  • Support the design and assessment of piping systems for facilities and pipelines
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes including ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662
  • Maintain consistency and integrity of piping systems and related equipment
Project Support & Coordination
  • Interface with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation
  • Collaborate with project teams and vendors to define scope and resolve technical issues
  • Contribute to project deliverables and support timely project execution
  • Assist in identifying piping stress requirements during project phasesย 
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Support adherence to company safety programs and engineering quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with ABSA, AEUB, and other regulatory requirements
  • Apply industry codes and best practices to all engineering deliverables

You're a detail-oriented engineer with strong analytical skills and a solid background in piping stress analysis. You enjoy working in a team environment and contributing to technically challenging projects.
You bring:
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 15+ years of oil & gas experience, preferably within an EPCM environmentย 
  • Extensive experience performing piping and pipeline stress analysisย 
  • Advanced proficiency in CAESAR II (required)ย 
  • Strong knowledge of ASME and CSA codes, including CSA Z662 and ASME B31.3ย 
  • Experience with conventional oil, heavy oil, SAGD, sweet and sour gas projects (preferred)ย 
  • Familiarity with ABSA and AEUB requirementsย 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
