Job description

Job Title: Junior Project EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join our team in the engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, gas processing, and heavy oil facilities. The role is essential in advancing the development of products related to the decarbonization of energy production. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate specific multi-discipline functions or areas within the project scope, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning.
  • Manage interfaces with key project stakeholders.
  • Ensure performance aligns with contract specifications, budget limits, and project baselines.
  • Manage project scope and change management submissions and processes.
  • Liaise with Project Planners-Schedulers and Project Cost Controls personnel to prepare regular status and progress reports.
  • Participate in Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) reviews and Hazardous Operability Studies (HAZOPs).
  • Prepare and review line, equipment, instrumentation, and specialty items lists.
  • Coordinate and assist with the sizing and selection of project instrumentation and process equipment.
  • Participate in the Bid/Evaluate/Award process, including developing RFQ packages, bid evaluations, and BOM entry into ERP software.
  • Check vessel, structural, steel, piping spooling, assembly, and civil drawings.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews and construction planning meetings.
  • Coordinate and review the compilation of Project Data and Operating Manuals for distribution to the project team and client.
  • Perform shop inspections and resolve Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Review ship loose lists and resolve field Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Supervise junior or co-op student project engineers on a temporary task level.
Essential Skills
  • Registered Engineer-in-training or Professional Engineer status, registered or in process with APEGGA.
  • 2+ years of oil and gas industry experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in mechanical, mechanical engineering, project engineering, and chemical engineering.
Work Environment

This role operates in a dynamic engineering environment that involves working on multiple aspects of project execution. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and departments, ensuring seamless project progression and adherence to quality standards.
