Job description

Environmental Services Aides are responsible for keeping the KRMC facility safe, clean, disinfected and well maintained in compliance with federal, state, and local health codes and regulations. Responsible for disinfecting all areas of the hospital including; patient areas, diagnostic testing rooms, waiting areas, staff areas, examination rooms, operation rooms, and corridors.

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
  • Assists in cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms with hospital grade disinfection with the standards and procedures set by the department and KRMC.
  • Initiates and promotes quality improvement, seeking to meet, and exceed, customer expectations.
  • Demonstrates proper hand washing and/or sanitizing following KRMC policy and procedures.
  • Assists the engineering department by notifying them of any repairs and submitting work orders that need attention in the KRMC facility.
  • Follows directions, both verbal and written, including but not limited to infection control, environmental services, biohazard policies, and mixing of cleaning products.
  • Maintains routine records of all duties performed/areas cleaned and any problems that may arise.
  • Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, removing trash or scrap material).
  • Ability to do work on his/her own with only normal supervision.
  • A working knowledge of department policies in order to help train and orient new employees.
  • A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge and observance of safety precautions.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Daily use of computers and email.
