Job description

Job title: Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA 30339

Duration: 8 months contract

Schedule: Standard shift

Pay range: $35 to $42 an hour (Depends on experience & qualification)

Position Summary:

The Engineer position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree. Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems. Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications. Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

Minimum Responsibilities:

  • Pull mechanical and electrical drawings from drawing repository.
  • Perform field walkdowns with drawings and identify/markup drawings.
  • Sketch system P&ID's for missing drawings and components.
  • Assign drawing asset/component numbers and names based on company standard.
  • Develop naming spreadsheets for components and assets.
  • Install physical tags on assets and components.
  • Track and communicate progress and provide project updates.

Job responsibilities:

  • Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first, understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
  • Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Understanding design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design.
  • Understanding industry and client’s design standards, supporting design standard and criteria development for the system, supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
  • Estimating material for projects, transmitting construction packages, and supporting specifications.

Skillsets and expertise required:

  • Introductory engineering knowledge, basic problem-solving skills
  • Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.
  • Basic discipline software knowledge.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
