As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the functions outlined below:

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates supplier performance data and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of the organization.
  • Coordinates regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, as well as actively participating in strategic development based on quality control plans as implemented by the Quality Organization.
  • Serve as the liaison for operations and SQE III/suppliers, in conjunction with the Quality Organization. Actively participate in the improvement of the structural quality and processes in a team environment. Collect and analyze supplier performance Trend Analysis and RCCA to identify Supplier Quality opportunities for improvement in performance and support of reducing overall safety stock levels.
  • Responsible for establishing receiving inspection plans to ensure supplier quality, and using them to for supplier corrective actions, and historical part data records.
  • Manage FAIs through EPDM in support of new product or improved existing product SKUs.
  • Review FAI results with SQEs to address opportunities and corrections with part quality.
  • Participates in the companys efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
  • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
  • Conforms to and operates within the framework of all applicable operator work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures.
  • Participate in all Company required Environmental, Health & Safety training events/discussions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 1-2 min. years of experience or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training, to sufficiently, and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Previous experience in a quality supervising capacity preferred.
  • Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
  • Must be a problem solver who uses advanced analytical skills to find innovative solution to quality-related issues.
  • Must also have strong communication, presentation, relationship building and proactive leadership skills.
  • May work in an office environment or at a production site depending on the needs of their company
  • Report supplier performance and quality progress reports to present to the supervisor and/or management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs.
  • Proven record in field of experience as well as professionalism and integrity is a must.
  • Teamwork and the ability to cooperate and work proactively with others is a must.
  • Good time management, attention to detail, written and oral communications skills required with the ability to work, interact and effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, team mates, employees and customers.
  • Self-motivated; working independently or within a team; working under deadlines and pressure; willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed.
  • Travel requirements: As needed in support of new supplier qualification, monitoring of supplier performance and or as otherwise specified by the supervisor and/or management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
