Position Summary 
The Mechanical Assembly Lead is responsible for the mechanical assembly of dry ice production and blasting equipment and accessories.  
Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex and advanced sub-assembly and final assembly of products according to engineering drawings.
  • Provides backup leadership to the Production Supervisor by assisting with oversight of daily production activities to maintain workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Pull parts from the kanban system and follow inventory control procedures.
  • Work with assembly sketches or other input documents of similar complexity.
  • Build machine sub-assemblies to specifications within established build times.
  • Complete final assembly on machines to specifications within established build times.
  • Shakedown machine to verify that the machine operates within parameters.
  • Troubleshoot any machine that does not pass shakedown.
  • Perform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high-quality products.
  • Provide feedback to the design engineering team regarding design or drawing suggestions.
  • Conduct product testing and performance testing and record the results.
  • Maintain work area clean, safe, and orderly.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, consistent with safety policies.
  • Cross-train in all areas of assembly.

Position Requirements:
 Education & Experience:
  • HS Diploma or GED required.  Vocational school, trade school, or formal OTJ apprenticeship training preferred.
  • 2-3 Years of prior machine building experience, small engine repair, or automotive experience required.

Skill Competencies:
  •  Ability to lead and cross train team members.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Good dexterity and facility in the use of a variety of hand tools.
  • Proficient at reading assembly drawings.
  • Troubleshoots, problem solves well.
  • Proficient computer skills for occasional operational tasks
  • Available and willing to work overtime when needed.
