Job description

Hi-Vac Corporation is seeking full-time Assembly Mechanics! If you like to build large equipment and have a rewarding career, we want to talk to you!

The Assembly Mechanic works in the manufacturing facility as part of an assembly team responsible for building mobile and industrial equipment that is mounted on a truck chassis or trailer. Assembly Mechanics work together with other team members and other trades to assemble the finest industrial and environmental equipment available. This role is suited to a “jack of all trades” with mechanical knowledge as well as some hydraulic and pneumatic experience.

Skills and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Mechanical ability with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Assembling components and sub-assemblies per work instructions and the instructions of the team leader.
  • Attention to detail and exhibits great pride in their work.
  • Feedback ideas to team leaders and engineering to improve the product, improve efficiency, and reduce scrap and rework.
  • Any experience with hydraulics and pneumatics for heavy equipment would be a plus.
  • Able to use all hand tools and power tools used in the assembly and manufacturing of heavy equipment.
  • Committed to Excellence and enjoys working on a variety of projects and tasks.
  • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Willingness to change, flex and learn, self-motivated.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and
  • Post-Secondary Education from a Technical School or
  • Mechanical ability with 1 to 3 years working in an environment that requires mechanical ability.
