The Extended Workforce Specialist supports and enables Applied Materials' Global Extended Workforce program, operating within Global Sourcing and Procurement. This role is responsible for end-to-end operational execution, governance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the extended workforce lifecycle.
The role partners closely with Strategic Sourcing and Delivery Operations teams to ensure supplier alignment, process consistency, cost transparency, and a high-quality experience for business stakeholders in a fast-paced, global environment. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy and serves as a subject matter expert for extended workforce operations and governance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and support global extended workforce operations within established Global Sourcing & Procurement frameworks.
  • Apply and enforce enterprise policies related to extended workforce engagement, worker classification, tenure, and access.
  • Serve as an operational SME for extended workforce processes, systems, and controls.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to operationalize supplier strategies, rate cards, and contracting models for the extended workforce.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Operations to ensure consistent execution of onboarding, extensions, changes, and offboarding.
  • Act as a connector between business stakeholders and enabling teams to resolve issues and improve execution.
  • Analyze extended workforce spend, utilization, and trends; provide insights aligned to sourcing and cost-optimization objectives
  • Maintain and enhance rate cards, templates, and program documentation to improve transparency and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and operational improvement across regions.

Ensures that specific project and program objectives are defined for areas of responsibility, and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., determination of outcomes, milestones, viability studies, and resource planning, among others) are completed to allow for effectiveness and focus during later stages of completion.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in extended workforce operations, sourcing operations, procurement, or workforce governance.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Strategic Sourcing and Delivery Operations teams.
  • Strong understanding of extended workforce engagement models, compliance risks, and enterprise controls.
  • Experience working with VMS platforms (SAP Fieldglass preferred).

Proven ability to operate independently in a global, matrixed organization

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
