Job Overview
The Engagement Manager is the lead trusted advisor for university departments and develops strong partnerships between UIS and executive stakeholders to deliver value in all aspects of project and operational work. The Engagement Manager works collaboratively with specifically designated departments or university divisions to provide IT guidance, recommendations for improvement, and direction as it pertains to IT services at Georgetown. They assist the department or division with development of an IT roadmap that is aligned to departmental goals and objectives and prioritizes user experience. They also work in partnership with departments and UIS to identify and secure resources that assure technology needs are met. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for requirements gathering, facilitating information sharing, and managing stakeholder expectations. The position will be responsible for communicating UIS policies, procedures and updates on central services, which includes, among other responsibilities, shepherding stakeholders through the UIS security review process. The Engagement Manager will represent and be an advocate for the IT organization, gain compliance with established policies, and negotiate or settle significant or controversial issues with their assigned areas of responsibility.
Work Interactions
This Position reports to the Sr. Director of Engagement Management. Engagement Managers will work directly with individuals on many levels - faculty and students in academic areas, management and executives in administrative groups. The position is responsible for finding the right stakeholders, key decision makers, and subject matter experts for their projects. This position has no direct reports.
Work Mode Designation
This position has been designated as Hybrid 3 days. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years working in an information technology management organization
  • Continuing education in technology discipline - Strong depth in project and program management and experience with facilitating steering committees and executive level meetings to make decisions regarding schedule, budgets, scope and other key success factors
  • -Experience being responsible for leading
  • Certification in business process mapping, requirements gathering and project management Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing with proper grammar and spelling
  • Knowledge of general IT security standards in a business and/or academic setting 5 years working in IT customer service or Business Analyst role is preferred
  • Experience working in a management consulting environment is preferred

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$103,723.00 - $202,778.93
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
