WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
To thrive as a Family Engagement Coach, you should bring a combination of experience, empathy, and adaptability. An associate's degree in human services, early childhood education, social work, or a related field is preferred, though at least two years of relevant experience can be considered in place of formal education. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience working with vulnerable children and families, especially within the contexts of trauma, mental health, special education, or recovery. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred to effectively support our diverse community.
Success in this role also requires strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to build trust with families from all walks of life. You'll need to be organized, able to maintain accurate records, and flexible enough to navigate a dynamic environment that may include some evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities. A trauma-informed approach, creative problem-solving abilities, and comfort working with technology and databases are also important.
