What The Role Is
The Senior Business Reporting Analyst of Credit and Energy Risk will reside within the middle-office function supporting the risk management of energy marketing and trading activities across Clearway's portfolio of renewable and conventional generation assets. This position will focus on streamlined reporting of key risk metrics to key stakeholders and on the automation/development of the Risk Team's day-to-day energy risk, operational risk, credit risk, and enterprise risk activities. The Senior Business Reporting Analyst will ensure the management and quality of data are sound, enabling effective reports and visuals, and ensuring data analysis is intuitive and supports informed decision-making. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Credit & Energy Risk.
This hybrid role will be located in our Scottsdale, AZ office.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing and supporting the middle office function by establishing and enhancing effective processes and procedures through data automation efforts.
  • Leveraging a strong baseline understanding of IT infrastructure to manage, construct, and analyze large data volumes housed (predominantly) within the Clearway ETRM but also originating from S&P, Moody's, Clearway's internal contract system, etc.
  • Transforming large data volumes into key reports/visuals originating from Power BI, PowerPoint, and/or HEX.
  • Creating and maintaining clear, concise, and illustrative dashboards that present positions and exposures for Clearway, including a) credit exposures associated with mark-to-market of energy hedges, RECs, HRCOs, and RA; b) Value at Risk; c) scenario/sensitivity analysis; d) exposure against position limits.
  • Reporting credit exposures, positions, risk assessments, operational risk issues, and performance in a timely and accurate fashion to senior management and members of the Energy Risk Committee.
  • Working collaboratively with Front Office and Back Office staff to achieve productive outcomes for the enterprise.
  • Preparing polished, best-in-class materials for the Energy Risk Committee, Monthly Enterprise Reviews, Monthly Compliance Discussions, TQR Technology Advisory Panel Discussions, etc.
  • Utilizing Clearway's Energy Trading and Risk Management ("ETRM") as a source for risk management and risk reporting.
  • Using Artificial Intelligence ("AI") to provide scenario-based evaluations, improve workflows, review content for accuracy, etc.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, economics, finance, business, or related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of middle office operational experience with credit and/or market risk knowledge in an energy trading or commodity environment.
  • Risk reporting experience derived from energy trading risk management (ETRM) systems.
  • Detail and process-oriented mindset with the ability to lead initiatives.
  • Communication skills; ability to relay complex issues in a digestible, executive-level format.
  • Willingness to take on a task or project proactively.

What Would Be Nice

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
