We deliver customized, cost-effective energy solutions including energy purchasing, efficiency programs, and data services to help reduce costs and carbon emissions for residential communities nationwide. Our work supports boards and property managers in achieving regulatory compliance, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability goals.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Energy Projects with deep expertise in energy analysis, energy compliance, and exceptional leadership and project management skills. This role will oversee several energyย projects including compliance reporting. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a skilled communicator, and a proven people leader who can manage complex projects and mentor a high-performing team.

Your Responsibilities:

ย 

  • Lead delivery of energy projects across multiple properties, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with energy benchmarking and regulatory requirements through oversight of processes, data accuracy, and reporting.
  • Provide strategic, data-driven insights to senior leadership to support decision-making.
  • Manage the benchmarking compliance team, ensuring deadlines are met, filings are accurate and timely, and documentation standards and quality controls are maintained. Monitor regulatory changes and translate requirements into internal processes.
  • Oversee multiple projects, track KPIs, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Deliver executive reporting and maintain accountability for results.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop team members; manage workloads, performance, and continuous improvement. Establish KPIs, dashboards, and quality standards.
  • Partner with internal teams, including Marketing, Communications, Accounting, and Engineering, as well as external vendors, to ensure coordinated delivery and consistent messaging.
  • Enforce project management protocols, ensuring accurate system updates, reporting transparency, and documentation integrity.
  • Manage vendors, monitor performance, and advise stakeholders on compliance strategies, risks, and required actions.
  • Support long-term compliance strategy, process improvements, and program innovation, including tools, reporting, and tracking enhancements.
  • Track program budgets, revenue forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to SLT priorities, action plans, and cross-functional alignment with leadership, including the Energy Program Director.

Skills & Qualifications:

ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field (Masterโ€™s preferred).
  • 7โ€“10 years of experience in energy project management, analysis, and regulatory compliance, with proven success managing multiple projects and delivering on time.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in energy tools and compliance platforms
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong understanding of SOP development processes
  • Experience with portfolio-level analysis of deliverables and performance outcomes

The following are preferred qualifications but not required:

  • Certifications: CEM, BPI, LEED AP, BEMP, PE, CM&V professional or similar.
  • Experience with energy modeling and emissions tools.
  • Background in real estate sustainability or engineering consulting.
  • Passion for sustainability and energy management
  • Experience working with third party software such as ClickUp and other project management sites
