Company Overview
General Summary:
Lead the proactive management of energy and building equipment for all store locations, including energy procurement, energy related project initiatives and general building equipment commissioning. Provide strategic direction to A&E, Construction, Store Facility Maintenance teams and Capital budgeting team around energy reduction measures, new initiative equipment adjustments and impacts in both new store and retrofit applications. Manage the daily routines associated with the support of the new store and remodel annual pipeline, associated with energy management systems, system commissioning and utilities.
Job Details
  • Responsible for Energy Management System strategy and execution
    • Coordinates and manages energy management system (EMS) parameters to support corporate initiatives and seasonality.
    • Incorporate EMS strategies with greater comprehensive energy strategy (Integration with rate analysis and deregulated procurement strategies).
    • o Manages multiple vendors in support of delivery of EMS strategy scope.
  • Team Project/Program Management
    • Manages assigned energy, design and sustainability related projects to meet company objectives. This includes working with various internal departments to determine needs/requirements, managing vendors performing work, gathering data for project reporting and managing project to assigned capital/expense targets.
    • Position will manage vendor schedules and equipment coordination on all new development projects in support of the new store and remodel opening plans. (ex. 475+ New, 4,250 Remodels annually).
  • Cross-functional support (will support A&E, Building Systems, Refrigeration, Construction, Store Facilities)
    • Provides technical support for refrigeration, EMS and HVAC as it relates to existing store needs. This will include problem solving for existing equipment, parts and software to strengthen response times and corrective measures to support open stores.
    • Research identified issues in buildings and equipment that are causing concern for the organization and propose/implement corrective measures.
    • Advise on store design for New Construction build and Remodel projects in relation to assets.

  • National Account vendor management
    • Position will be involved in the procurement of national account vendors for the DG program. Will act as technical expert on LED lighting, HVAC, energy management systems, and work with the internal procurement team, A&E, Construction and Store Facilities on the on boarding and negotiation of new and existing vendors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Proven analytical skills and an interest in energy management/sustainability initiatives. Strong ability to develop understanding of energy reduction strategies, building components and sustainability projects.
  • Ability to function well in a fast pace environment with a high sense of urgency and minimal supervision.
  • High level of accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Ability to arrive at sound decisions at a timely manner while remaining knowledgeable of how decisions impact other areas of the company.
  • Customer driven, dependable, proficient in organization, time management skills.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding to build cross-functional team alignment, commitment, and accountability for delivering results.
  • Ability to provide strategic thought leadership to organization planning needs and long-term goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with people at all levels.

Qualifications
Work Experience &/or Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred degrees, construction management, business, finance) and / or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of program management, energy management and procurement.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools and working knowledge of Manage Path or equivalent project management tools.
