How hard is it to get a job at Giant?

Getting a job at an energy company like Giant typically requires a relevant background in energy, engineering, or technical fields, along with relevant certifications or experience. The application process often involves multiple interview stages and assessments, and competition can be high depending on the role and location.

What are Energy Giants?

Energy Giants are large companies that play a major role in the production, distribution, and sale of energy resources such as oil, gas, electricity, and renewable energy. These corporations often operate on a global scale and have significant influence on energy markets and policies. Examples include companies like ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, and Chevron. They are involved in various sectors of the energy industry, from exploration and extraction to refining, generation, and retail.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Energy Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Energy Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a background in engineering or environmental science, and experience with energy markets or utilities. Familiarity with energy modeling software, data analytics tools like Excel or Python, and relevant certifications such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) are commonly required. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail help you interpret complex data and collaborate with stakeholders. These abilities are crucial for providing actionable insights that drive energy efficiency and strategic decision-making in the energy sector.

Job description

Harbor IT is a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in delivering cutting edge Cybersecurity, IT, and Cloud Services to a diverse portfolio of clients. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Harbor IT is backed by investment firm Worklyn Partners since 2022 and has built a national platform through acquisition and rapid organic growth. Our mission is to manage our clients' technology and mitigate their cyber risks, so that they don't have to.
Harbor IT | Remote with Travel | Reports to CRO
The Oil, Gas, and Energy Practice Lead is responsible for helping Harbor build a credible, relationship-driven presence in the independent energy ecosystem. This is not a traditional technology sales role. The right person already knows the right independent players, can get meetings quickly, understands how lean energy companies really operate, and wants to help build a practice. This role carries a quota for net new ARR and is expected to help create and convert opportunities into new recurring revenue in the vertical.
Key Responsibilities
• Build relationships with independent producers and independent-friendly energy services companies
• Open doors for Harbor through existing trust-based relationships in the energy community
• Identify opportunities where Harbor can help with managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and strategy
• Help shape Harbor's go-to-market approach for the energy vertical
• Act as a trusted connector between Harbor and the broader independent energy ecosystem
• Carry and perform against a quota for net new ARR in the energy vertical
What Success Looks Like
• Harbor is known and trusted in the independent energy ecosystem
• The Practice Lead is opening doors to the right companies and decision makers
• Harbor is building relationships and opportunities with independent producers and the firms around them
• The energy vertical gains real momentum rather than just surface-level visibility
Requirements and What You Bring
Typically 7+ years in the energy ecosystem, although the real test is network quality, credibility, and recent activity. We are not looking for a network concentrated in majors or giant oilfield services companies. We are looking for someone connected to independents and the firms that serve them.
Location
Open, but strong preference for Oklahoma City, Houston, or Denver with proximity to a major airport hub.
Why Harbor
Harbor IT is a managed services and cybersecurity provider focused on helping growing companies operate in secure, reliable, well-run technology environments.
In Life Sciences, we believe there is a real opportunity to help companies that are outgrowing scrappy early-stage infrastructure but are not yet being served well by large, generic providers.
This is an opportunity to help shape that practice and build something meaningful.
Harbor Benefits
Medical Plans • We will be offering Aetna as our national wide carrier.
• 3 plans will be offered under Aetna o Aetna POS High Deductible HSA Plan
o Aetna Open Access Plus POS
o Aetna EPO plan
• Contributions:
o 100% for Employee only and 80% for Employee + Spouse/Kid/Family
Unlimited PTO plan
401k match
Short and Long Term Disability
Life and AD&D Insurance
