Job Description:

We are seeking a Principalto lead and grow our Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice. This leader will be responsible for building the vertical strategy, expanding market presence, developing client relationships, and shaping finance focused managed services solutions for companies across the energy sector.

This is a senior leadership role for a market facing executive who brings deep finance and industry experience, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to translate complex client needs into scalable managed services solutions. The Principal will help clients strengthen finance operations, improve visibility and control, modernize processes, and create more resilient operating models. The ideal candidate brings a combination of industry credibility, commercial leadership, and operating model experience. This person will help position Managed Services as a strategic operating partner to energy clients rather than a traditional outsourcing provider

The role is focused exclusively on the Finance functionand includes leadership across finance transformation, controllership support, close and reporting, FP&A support, procure to pay, order to cash, cash flow visibility, compliance, and finance related application support.

Key Responsibilities

Practice leadership

  • Lead the Oil and Gas / Energy Finance Managed Services practice as the senior industry leader
  • Define the growth strategy, market priorities, and solution focus for the practice
  • Build a differentiated point of view around finance managed services for the energy sector
  • Partner across the firm to align industry strategy, managed services capabilities, and client priorities
  • Help establish the practice as a recognized leader in finance operations and transformation for energy clients

Business development and revenue growth

  • Originate and close new business within the Oil and Gas / Energy sector
  • Build relationships with CFOs, CAOs, controllers, finance leaders, private equity sponsors, and portfolio company executives
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across new logos, existing clients, and cross sell relationships
  • Lead strategic pursuits, solution development, executive presentations, and pricing discussions
  • Develop a strong and actionable pipeline that supports practice growth goals

Finance solution development

  • Shape finance managed services solutions tailored to Oil and Gas / Energy clients

Focus solutions on areas such as:

    • Procure to pay, order to cash
    • FP&A support
    • Close and consolidation
    • Management reporting
    • Technical accounting support
    • Finance data and analytics
    • Working capital and cash visibility
    • Finance controls and compliance
    • ERP and finance application support
    • Bring practical insight into the finance challenges unique to the sector, including joint ventures, complex allocations, project accounting, asset intensive operations, multi entity structures, and acquisition integration
    • Help clients move from fragmented finance processes to a more integrated and accountable operating mode

Client advisory and executive engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior finance executives
  • Help clients assess their current finance function, identify gaps, and define a future state model
  • Position managed services as a strategic enabler of stronger finance performance, not simply a staffing alternative
  • Support clients through finance modernization, process redesign, control enhancement, and operating model evolution
  • Act as executive sponsor for priority client relationships within the practice

Internal collaboration and capability building

  • Partner with delivery leaders to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with client outcomes
  • Inform talent strategy for the practice, including capability needs, leadership requirements, and industry expertise
  • Contribute to the development of playbooks, solution assets, and industry specific offerings
  • Support recruiting, mentoring, and development of talent aligned with the practice
  • Provide leadership input into annual planning, forecasting, and investment priorities

Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experiencein finance, consulting, managed services, outsourcing, or transformation, with significant experience in Oil and Gas or Energy
  • Proven leadership experience in building or scaling a practice, service line, or industry vertical
  • Deep understanding of finance operating models and managed services solutions
  • Strong commercial track record with demonstrated success in business development and executive relationship management
  • Experience advising CFOs, controllers, and finance leadership teams on transformation, performance improvement, and finance operations
