What You'll Do:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, service delivery, and operational systems. This role works closely with leadership and departmental teams to identify, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions that support AMT's vision, goals, and long-term growth strategies.
The Systems Administrator serves as the subject matter expert for Windows and Linux server administration and maintenance. In addition, this role acts as the primary administrator for Microsoft 365 services, ensuring reliable collaboration, communication, and security across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, and manage AMT's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, servers, and network systems.
  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and optimal performance.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and associated security and compliance tools.
  • Manage and optimize VMware virtualization infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement timely resolutions to maintain operational continuity.
  • Manage system updates, patches, upgrades, and routine maintenance to ensure stability and security across the IT environment.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership and departmental teams to identify technology needs and implement scalable, cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain and enforce IT security protocols, including access management, threat protection, and data security measures.
  • Develop, maintain, and test system backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and technical standards to support operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that align with organizational goals, operational needs, and growth strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance for IT projects, system integrations, and technology initiatives across the organization.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience administering Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365 in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 support role.
  • Microsoft certifications preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise Windows desktop environments in conjunction with server and infrastructure systems.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting Windows operating systems and related infrastructure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on business impact and severity.
  • Ability to maintain and develop processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Intermediate experience with VMware environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell or another scripting language for automation.
  • Proficiency with Windows 10 or later, Windows Serve (2012/2016/2019), Microsoft Office, endpoint security platforms, mobile device management (MDM), VPN solutions, email security systems, and endpoint imaging tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, including identity protection, Conditional Access, and related security controls preferred.
