Job description

Description Endpoint System Administrator IT System Administration - Senior Specialist Camp Murray, WA The recruitment is open on an internal basis only to permanent state employees of the Washington Military Department. This position reports to the Policy and Planning Manager within the Information Technology division and is responsible for performing system administration and oversee daily functions related to the management of agency endpoint devices such as desktops, laptops, and cell phones. Duties Endpoint Management Administrator - Serve as lead administrator for the endpoint management system used by the Washington Military Department.

Perform administrative tasks associated with an endpoint management system, including system setup, configuration and management. Responsible for ongoing care and health of the endpoint management system. Integrate and transition to technology solutions as necessary to ensure adequate management of endpoint services.

Configure device/endpoint policies and compliance rules within endpoint management system. Tier 2 Device Support - Serve as primary tier 2 support provider for requests involving agency endpoint devices. Independently troubleshoot and resolve intermediate and advanced endpoint support requests.

Proactively and regularly communicate with affected customers/users regarding status of support request. Prioritize support requests based on security/risk, agency need, and user experience. Responsible to ensure long-term enhanced value delivery for agency endpoint devices necessary to ensure devices are protected and capable of providing business value and an optimal end user experience.

Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Seven years of progressive professional level experience in organizational management, information technology, or consulting, and Five years of experience with Information Technology customer support operations, and Three years of experience with endpoint management system operations in a production environment. The experiences listed above may be gained concurrently. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Certification: Intune Admin Certificate (MD-102). Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE). Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.

Skills, abilities, and competencies to: Deploy and manage modern workplace endpoint solutions using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Microsoft 365 Defender. Device enrollment, provisioning tools, and automation for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android platforms. Leverage Microsoft 365 admin tools, Endpoint Analytics, and reporting platforms to track device health, security, and adoption.

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Take action to learn and grow. Meet the needs of others.

Knowledge of: Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access, device compliance policies, and Microsoft Purview. Security and compliance frameworks such as DISA STIGs, DoD RMT, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53/800-171 controls, auditing requirements, and secure configuration baselines. Patch lifecycles, CVE/CVSS, WSUS/WUfB, Defender for Endpoint threat exposure metrics, and rollout risk management.

Supplemental Information Compensation: Wage/salary depends on qualifications or rules of promotion. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background Investigation: Must successfully complete the appropriate background checks required for employment. Must be willing to sign releases of information and shall not have access to any investigative materials and files.

The processing of background checks can take up to six months post-employment. Failure to successfully pass a background check may be cause for termination. Driver's License: Valid to drive in the State of Washington.

Must meet requirements of the REAL ID Act. This is required for base access and will be required upon hire. Military Facility: Willingness to work on a Military Controlled Access Installation.

Camp Murray utilizes the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) for entry to the installation. Must meet access requirements / background check which can be found in the Camp Murray Access Requirements Policy (Unified Policy No. 18-01).

This includes possession of an Enhanced Driver's License, or other REAL ID Compliant Identification. Union Shop Provision: This position is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE). Work Hours: The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day, or a four-day per week schedule, 10 hours per day, with either Mondays or Fridays off.

The actual work hours will be established between the employee and supervisor and will start no earlier than 6:00am and end no later than 6:00pm. Telework: This position may be eligible for some telework. The incumbent will work with their supervisor to identify an appropriate work schedule and balance between remote and in person work based on operational need and employee preference.

Reporting to the workstation for work activities and participating in in-person meetings is required. Emergency Assignment: Upon activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) or Joint Field Office (JFO), incumbent may be required to work in an alternate location with rotating shifts, including weekends and evenings, in a highly stressful and fast-paced environment. Travel: Requires the ability and willingness to independently travel throughout the state, sometimes overnight, to attend meetings and conduct public outreach and training.
