Job Description

Summary:

In this role, you'll work with customers and collaborate with our retail experience team to uncover insights that lead to innovation and outstanding customer experiences. We're looking for someone who has experience with a variety of lab based and field research methods and a proven track record for uncovering actionable insights. This researcher will have a significant impact on our business executing innovative, influential user research that shapes the retail customer experience for Nike. The researcher will work collaboratively with product managers, executives, designers, the brand, and other researchers across Nike to help drive the vision and execution for increasing customer engagement in our brick and mortar experiences. We're looking for a strong and vocal user advocate with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of different user research methodologies, past experience with experience research in both brick & mortar and e-commerce, and the ability to introduce new approaches when appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of our customers, business objectives and company mission
  • Maintain consistent, clear and actionable customer advocacy
  • Collaborate with product teams including designers, product managers and experience leaders to design and deliver tools and experiences that support best-in-class retail journeys.ย Your role will be to:
  1. Apply a variety of research methods to drive consumer insights at every stage of design and development, from early concept development to lab prototyping to live in-store experiences
  2. Plan and execute research activities end-to-end including consumer recruitment, research design, moderation / facilitation and synthesis
  3. Deliver actionable insights through impactful presentations in order to influence product decisions and design deliverables
  • Manage open and timely communication with internal stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated passion for the consumer and advocate for their needs
  • Mastery over a variety of experience research methods, as well as all phases of research
  • A portfolio demonstrating a proven track record for experience research in retail and e-commerce that led to deep insights and customer advocacy with product teams
  • Strong command of user experience principles, design methodologies and collaborative problem solving
  • Excellence in capturing business goals and working with collaborative teams
  • Clear communication, problem-solving, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
  • Design agency experience is a plus
  • 5 + years of proven success leading User Research projects in e-commerce or retail with demonstrated impact
  • BS in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or similar
