Job description

Job Summary

Strawser Construction Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs. We are currently looking for an Asphalt Terminal Operator at our Terry Asphalt Materials Plant in Hamilton, OH. This shift will run from 6:00 am 2:00 pm with flexibility in your schedule in the future. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Terminal Operator is responsible for various duties ensuring maximum safety, production, and productivity, including loading and unloading truck and rail cars, working with asphalt and emulsion, and general maintenance. Night shift differential rate may apply!

Main Responsibilities

  • General laborer and operator duties associated with asphalt and emulsions manufacturing
  • Load and unload trailers, move pallets with fork lift
  • Work with rail cars that contain hot asphalt
  • Maintain the terminal through cleaning and painting
  • Daily inventory activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the terminal operations

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Mechanical experience a plus
  • Must adhere to all Strawser safety regulations
  • Must be able to lift 65 pounds and climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be proficient in math, computer, and communication skills
