Familiarity with major electronic medical record (EMR) platforms like Epic, Cerner, or Meditech, along with certifications such as Certified Professional in Health Informatics (CPHI), is typically required. What are EMR systems?

EMR systems, or Electronic Medical Record systems, are digital platforms used by healthcare providers to store, manage, and retrieve patients' medical information. They help streamline clinical workflows, improve accuracy of health records, and facilitate easier sharing of patient data within a single healthcare organization. EMR systems often include features like appointment scheduling, billing, e-prescribing, and clinical documentation. They are essential for improving patient care, reducing paperwork, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
