Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented EHR Systems Analysts to join our dynamic healthcare IT team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This position involves collaborating with clinical, provider, billing, and operational teams to enhance workflows, ensure system integrity, and support the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Location: In-person. Relocation assistance is available for an incumbent who moves to the Hilo area to accept this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Epic Implementation:

· Lead the implementation of the Epic applications ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

· Participate in system design, configuration, and testing to ensure EHR applications meet clinical and operational needs.

· Collaborate with Epic representatives, IT staff, clinicians, physicians, and leadership to develop and execute project plans.

· Assist with the implementation of associated (non-Epic) EHR applications as assigned.

System Analysis and Support:

· Analyze, design, implement, and support Epic systems and applications.

· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Epic applications.

· Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and upgrades.

Training and Documentation:

· Assist in the development and delivery of training programs on the Epic system, ensuring proficiency in its use and adherence to Epics best practices.

· Provide continuous support to end-users on Epic applications.

· Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system configurations, process workflows, and training materials.

· Generate and analyze reports to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.

Project Management:

· Lead and participate in project planning, implementation, and post-implementation support.

· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.

Compliance and Security:

· Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other data protection standards.

· Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard patient information.

System Optimization:

· Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to understand workflow requirements.

· Identify opportunities for system optimization and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and patient care.

Collaboration and Communication:

· Act as a liaison when needed to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

· Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and committees to represent Epic applications in system-related discussions.

· Work with providers to develop and revise Epic workflows and ordering processes.

Qualifications:

Education:

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field strongly preferred.

· Epic certification is required for this position. Candidates who are not certified at the time of hire will be supported in obtaining certification through an employer-sponsored training agreement.

Experience:

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following settings: hospital/healthcare, information technology or project management.

Skills:

· Strong understanding of clinical workflows or billing workflows.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Proficiency in project management and ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Working Conditions, Physical Requirements, and Availability
- Position will be required to travel to East Hawaii Region facilities and will be subject to long hours and irregular schedules.
- Applicants must be able to work in a variety of environments, and able to adapt to an array of physical surroundings.
- Must be able to participate in on-call rotation and respond to system or training support needs as required.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as operational needs dictate, including during Epic go-lives, upgrades, and critical support periods.

The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
