Job description

At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business. A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.
Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.

The Program Manager, Integration, is part of Torc PMO's team and is responsible for supporting Torc's core mission: bringing a safe, commercially ready autonomous trucking system to public roads and to production scale. The primary focus of the role will be to lead integration activities to drive focus on specific objectives to enable the delivery of the Autonomous Truck. This will require frequent engagement with leaders across Engineering, Software, Safety, Test, Product, Operations, and Commercial teams to plan, organize, prioritize, and drive the integration of the systems and teams to advance critical program initiatives.

The role requires a high degree of skilled stakeholder engagement across all disciplines and levels of the organization, including frequent communication with leaders up to and including the C-suite. This role requires high judgement, capable of making independent decisions with little direction. This person should be a self-starter, curious, creative, solution-oriented, unafraid of ambiguity and able to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization to solve problems and drive clarity, learn and adapt from failure, and be motivated to tackle new topics and challenges.

The role reports to the Sr. Manager, Program Management and serves as a key member of Torc's Strategy & Planning team. Success in this role requires deep program management expertise and the ability to drive organizational clarity and accountability in a high-ambiguity, safety-critical environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to scope complex Integration initiatives, across Engineering, Software, Safety, Test, Product, Operations, and Commercial teams
  • Define goals and objectives that drive cross-functional teams to deliver on complex, highly coupled initiatives.
  • Engage all appropriate stakeholders to ensure all departments are focused on the highest priority integration needs.
  • Clearly articulate status of program initiatives through frequent updates, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Identify, map, track, and drive dependencies and risks to resolution.
  • Analyze product milestones and ensure cross-functional work is planned and if approved, executed in-order-to meet objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and opportunities toward initiative success.
  • Monitor progress of initiative assignments against program objectives, communicating issues, risks, and mitigation plans with key stakeholders.
  • Works collaboratively across program management, technical program management, and product management teams to ensure a strong partnership.
  • Independent preparation and post-processing of meetings and workshops including organization, moderation, decision tracking, documentation of outcomes, as well as follow-up on actions.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, program management, business, or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of program management experience in complex, multi-disciplinary technical environments - automotive, aerospace, robotics, or defense strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs with multiple concurrent delivery horizons, including milestone-driven and production-readiness contexts.
  • Deep familiarity with safety-critical product development environments and the governance, rigor, and documentation standards they require.
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex, cross-functional program state into clear narratives and actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive alignment and accountability across matrixed organizations without direct authority.
  • Composure under pressure, sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and the credibility to represent the program at the executive level.

Bonus Points!

  • Direct experience in autonomous vehicles, ADAS, or mobility-as-a-service program development.
  • Familiarity with both hardware-dependent and software-intensive development cycles - and the integration challenges between them.
  • Background in scaled agile, systems engineering, or hybrid development environments.
  • Familiarization with functional safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, or equivalent).
  • Familiarization with verification & validation or safety case development environments.
