We are seeking a strategic and creative people leader to join our team as a Senior Employee Experience & Engagement Program Manager. This role will be instrumental in shaping how it feels to work at BlackLine โ€” designing the programs, moments, and storytelling that bring our culture to life and strengthen our internal employer brand. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in employee engagement and experience design, exceptional program management skills, and a creative instinct for compelling internal communications that resonate with a global workforce.


You'll Get To:
  • Lead Internal Employer Brand Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive internal employer brand strategy that brings BlackLineโ€™s employee value proposition (EVP) to life, partnering closely with Marketing on external employer brand strategy to ensure our lived employee experience is consistent with the brand we share with the world.
  • Design Engagement Programs: Build, launch, and continuously improve global engagement programs that strengthen connection, belonging, and pride across BlackLine โ€” including recognition, wellbeing, and culture-defining moments.
  • Drive "Life at BlackLine" Content & Storytelling: Lead the production of authentic, employee-centered content (stories, videos, social posts, internal campaigns) that showcases our culture, values, and people across internal and external channels in partnership with the external employer brand team.
  • Activate Global Awareness Moments: Conceptualize and deliver programmatic experiences for global moments such as World Mental Health Day, ensuring meaningful participation, executive sponsorship, and measurable cultural impact.
  • Own Employee Listening & Insights: Manage employee engagement surveys, pulse listening, and qualitative feedback channels through platforms such as Glint and Peakon; translate insights into action plans that improve the employee experience and inform leadership decisions.
  • Lead the Engagement Platform Transition: Partner with People Analytics and IT to lead BlackLine's transition from Glint to Peakon, ensuring continuity of listening data, manager enablement, and a seamless employee experience.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, Internal Communications, DEIB, Marketing, and HRBPs to ensure a cohesive employee experience and consistent internal-to-external brand narrative.
  • Advise Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on engagement strategy, cultural health, and employee sentiment, translating data into business-relevant recommendations.
  • Measure What Matters: Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure program effectiveness, engagement health, and ROI; report progress and insights to the executive team.
  • Manage Vendors, Budget & Programs: Own the engagement program portfolio end-to-end, including vendor relationships, budget management, and project execution across a global, distributed workforce.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in employee experience, employee engagement, internal communications, or culture-focused roles, with at least 2 years at a senior or lead level.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and scaling engagement programs in a global, fast-paced organization.
  • Strong understanding of employee experience frameworks, engagement drivers, and internal employer brand best practices.
  • Exceptional storytelling and written communication skills, with the ability to craft narratives that resonate across diverse global audiences.
  • Experience designing and analyzing engagement surveys and translating data into measurable action; hands-on experience with platforms such as Glint, Peakon, Culture Amp, or similar required.
  • Proven program and project management skills with the ability to lead multiple high-visibility initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders.
  • Creative mindset balanced with analytical rigor โ€” equally comfortable producing a campaign and presenting a dashboard.
  • Proficiency with HR technology, engagement platforms, and content/collaboration tools.
  • Collaborative, low-ego operator who thrives in cross-functional partnerships and builds trust quickly.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally to support global programs, events, and team moments.

Salary Range:
USD $160,000.00/Yr. - USD $200,000.00/Yr.

Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
