Purpose of Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and executing a broad range of HR functions, including supporting hourly manufacturing recruiting, payroll, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and performance management. This position serves as a key partner to employees and leaders, helping to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning


Assist with the recruitment process for hourly, non-exempt roles including candidate screening, interviewing, and selection support.

Support strategic workforce planning by helping leaders identify talent needs and develop strong candidate pipelines.

Share new hire orientation and support onboarding initiatives that help employees integrate into the organization.


Training, Leadership Development & Employee Growth


Support and deliver training programs as they are built out and implemented. 

Support broader leadership development initiatives that promote a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Provide guidance and resources to leaders to support employee development and career growth.


Employee Engagement, Retention & Culture


Analyze turnover and retention trends and partner with HR Team & leadership to develop initiatives that improve employee engagement and workplace culture.

Support initiatives that strengthen employee satisfaction, organizational effectiveness, and retention.

Promote a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement across the organization.


HR Programs, Compliance & Continuous Improvement


Manage the full-cycle talent acquisition process for hourly positions, including sourcing, recruiting, and hiring qualified candidates.

Partner with departmental supervisors and managers to identify staffing needs and understand the skills, qualifications, and competencies required for open positions.

Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a successful transition into the organization.

Process employee transactions and maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS (Paylocity).

Administer and support human resources programs and initiatives, including:

  •        Payroll Administration
  •        Benefits Administration
  •        Leave management
  •        Supporting Employee disciplinary actions, relations matters
  •        Performance and talent management programs
  •        Employee recognition and morale initiatives
  •        Lead development programs
  •        Conduct New Employee Orientation


Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Participate in employee benefit enrollment meetings and provide guidance throughout the enrollment process.

Administer and manage Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) claims and related documentation.

Represent the company in unemployment compensation claims and hearings.

Stay informed of emerging HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, employment law updates, and new technologies impacting human resources and talent management.

Thrive in a fast-paced environment by demonstrating adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Ensure HR practices align with employment laws, company policies, and organizational values.

Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Solid knowledge of employment law, regulations, and HR best practices.

Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to prioritize workload and delegate responsibilities when appropriate.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)(Paylocity) and talent management systems, or the ability to quickly learn new technologies.


Education and Experience:


Required

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or comparable professional HR certification preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting employee development or training programs.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (written & spoken), highly preferred

Work Environment


This position operates primarily in a manufacturing environment and requires a consistent on-site presence. This role may involve exposure to heat, cold, fumes, uneven surfaces, and outdoor conditions.
