Job description

Senior Employee Development Specialist

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Production System Training (PST) organization is seeking a Senior Employee Development Specialist specializing in electrical, mechanical and quality instruction to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL.

This instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality training programs focused on electrical, mechanical, and quality skills and certification for technicians involved in the production of electronic assemblies. This role includes assessing the effectiveness of training content and collaborating with business partners to identify and implement performance development opportunities. The instructor will ensure that all training aligns with company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional presence in the classroom and lab settings.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective training content that meets established learning objectives for technicians in electrical skills, including soldering, building circuit cards, and assembling wire bundles using electrical crimping and assembly tools
  • Deliver quality assurance training
  • Conduct hands-on lab exercises to reinforce theoretical knowledge and practical skills
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments based on participant feedback and learning outcomes
  • Perform assessments to evaluate comprehension and certification of employees attending training sessions
  • Conduct customer workplace coaching to enhance the application of skills learned in training
  • Deploy development tools and resources to support ongoing learning and performance improvement
  • Consult with business partners to identify performance development opportunities and analyze training needs
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate learning strategies and solutions tailored to the specific needs of the organization
  • Monitor and evaluate performance needs and outcomes to ensure training effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals
  • Collect, organize, and report data related to training records and activities, ensuring accurate documentation of employee progress and certification
  • Maintain a professional presence while conducting classes and hosting lab exercises, fostering a positive learning environment
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures during the delivery of training programs
  • Travel up to 25%

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with soldering, electrical assembly and/or quality inspection
  • 3+ years of experience using any of the following systems: REDARS, PSDS, Gold ESP, MES
  • 3+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
  • 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years of experience delivering training in a technical environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
  • Certification in instructional design or adult education
  • Holds NASA and/or IPCinstructor certifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly in electronic assembly
  • Experience with training management systems and data reporting tools
