Georgia EMC is seeking a dynamic Manager of Economic Development to lead initiatives that attract business investment and support economic growth across Georgia's EMC communities. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by promoting economic growth across the state, fostering relationships with corporate leaders, community stakeholders, and economic development allies at local, state, national, and international levels.
As the Manager, Economic Development, you will lead initiatives that attract new business and industry, create jobs, and generate capital investment, while enhancing the competitiveness of communities served by EMCs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the economic development team, including staff development, performance management, and budget oversight.
  • Develop and execute marketing and business recruitment strategies targeting corporate prospects, site selection consultants, and industry partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with member EMCs, economic development organizations, and state agencies.
  • Coordinate prospect outreach, presentations, and site visits showcasing Georgia's competitive advantages and energy solutions.
  • Support industrial recruitment efforts through expertise in incentives, programs, and power sales opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Economics, Management, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in economic development, business development, commercial/industrial marketing, or related fields within local, regional, statewide, or utility organizations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, priorities, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
