Job description
Embree Construction Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Superintendent to join our team. The Superintendent position is an administrative position overseeing and administering the onsite day- to-day general operations which include safety, inspections, weekly logs, etc. of one or more construction projects, typically from start to finish of each project. This specific position requires candidates have experience working with Government contracts.

Responsibilities:
* Ability to travel nationwide is necessary
- Order and coordinate necessary temporary utilities required for project at mobilization.
- Develops a schedule for completion of an assigned project.
- Coordinates and schedules the daily work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and Collaborates with architect, engineer, attorney, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.
- Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.
- Coordinates with city, county, state, federal and any other AHJ’s for required inspections, approvals, permits or certifications.
- Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
- Maintains records related to deliveries and inventory.
- Maintains Daily Logs to include all daily activities, weather, tasks completed, subcontractors present, inspections, etc.
- Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
- Holds weekly safety meetings of toolbox talks.
- Maintains hazmat resources and safety materials.
- Collaborates with union representatives to answer questions and clarify procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Create weekly “3-week” look ahead schedules with input and buy-in from subcontractors.
- Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management
- Good plan reading and construction means & methods knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans
- Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites
- Thorough understanding of quality building practices
- Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them
- Reliable Transportation for traveling to and from the job site and

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms for long periods of time. The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell.
