Salary: $19.25/Hour

$30.00/Hour (Active/Retired Police)

Daily Hours: Up to 8.5 Hours per Day

Work Year: Per Diem

Supervisor: Director of School Safety and Security

Civil Service Title: Security Worker

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Experience as a security guard or security officer may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Current registration as a Security Guard with the New York State Department of State.

If you are appointed, you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

Desired Qualifications:

Ability to work with groups of students, staff and public;

Previous work experience as a security worker;

Previous work experience with students K-12;

Preferred:

CPR/AED certification or willingness to be certified.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

Provides security for the school building and enforces security and smoking regulations;

Works collaboratively with other safety team embers to take action on the discipline and behavior problems of students within the school building;

Builds relationships with students to facilitate student academic and social success;

Provides supervision for in-school-suspension or after school detention room;

Works collaboratively with other security staff to quickly resolve any problems involving student safety;

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
