The Embers Hotel is seeking a detailed, customer-oriented and resultsdriven General Manager to lead our team of hotel and restauranthospitality professionals.

Tucked in the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina,The Embers Hotel offers 36 guest rooms and suites with full-servicerestaurant and al fresco dining patio. Managed by Hay Creek Hotels,this boutique location embodies a fireside retreat with 4-star servicein an approachable, natural setting.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for overseeing successful operations in all propertydepartments, including Guest Services, Housekeeping, Restaurant& Bar, Sales & Marketing, Private Events, and Engineering.
  • Management of on-site short term rentals.
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients and guests in allareas, with a strong passion to elevate oneโ€™s overall experience atthe property. Must be willing to become the face of the property,exercising pro-active community involvement and interpersonal guest services.
  • Enforce outstanding internal and external customer servicestandards according to Hay Creek Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Oversee and assist in all associate management, including creativerecruitment, interviews, hiring and onboarding, training anddevelopment, progressive discipline, motivation, rewarding, andtermination of staff.
  • Manage positive Employee Relations to instill a fun, exciting workenvironment in line with HCH Beliefs and Culture Model.
  • Manage overall hotel and departmental budgets through ensuringeffective scheduling, accurate forecasting, managing inventory,controlling expenses, reviewing labor costs, creative promotions,and enforcing systems and controls.
  • Responsible for practicing and ensuring compliance in all health,sanitation, safety and security laws, labor laws, statecertifications/licensing, and all internal policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with all Managers in developing sales and marketingstrategies (i.e.; menus, advertisements, entertainment, food &beverage promotions, signs, incentives, flyers, e-blasts, socialmedia, etc.) and coordinating the management of all third-partymarketing resources.
Experience and Skills:
  • Recent 3+ years Hotel General Manager experience required
  • Strong background in both Rooms Division and F&B operations
  • Experience in luxury environment
  • Experience in Property Management and POS Software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Cost Management skills, with the ability to meet or exceedstrict budgetary expectations.
  • Daily Revenue and P&L Reporting exposure and knowledge
  • Strong background in hotel forecasting preferred
  • Comfortable with managing and leading a team with motivation,accountability, and regular follow-up
  • Ability to establish a strong service culture and maintain highcustomer service standards
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, think quickly, andprioritize effectively in a fast paced and demanding environmentwhile maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality
  • Successful completion of background check and/or DMV check.
  • Weekend availability for high volume days is required
