Position Description
Working within the Wexner Center for the Arts' Department of Marketing and Communications (M/C), the Social Media and Email Support Specialist serves on a temporary basis to help develop organic social media posts and cover related support tasks. The role also assists with promotional email copywriting (especially for the Wexner Center's weekly email newsletter) and website event page updates and other promotional copywriting tasks as needed when other editors/copywriters are out of office.
Social Content Creation
Write, schedule, and manage organic social posts for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Partners with M/C designers and writers to develop creative assets that can be leveraged on Wexner Center accounts. Provide coverage for onsite events as necessary.
Email Content Creation
Write short-form promotional copy for weekly email newsletters and other event-based promotional emails using existing event copy as basis.
Content Management and Scheduling
Assists M/C team with scheduling, updating, and organizing the center's social media calendar and confirming scheduled posts go live. Assists in managing ad-hoc post requests and cancelations. Flags user comments or concerns that need immediate response. Assists with event page updates on wexarts.org as needed.
This temporary position works 10-12 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Most work is remote except for weekly meetings and covering onsite events as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • 2 years of professional experience creating content (video, photography, editing platforms, advertising copy, blogs/features, and graphics) for a wide variety of audiences and digital platforms including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • 2 years of professional social media or multimedia marketing experience.
  • Proven ability to produce creative storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of content marketing and reputation management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must approach creating content with an audience-first focus.
  • Must have an understanding of social media metrics, measurement, and performance.

Additional Information:
The salary range for this position is $21.35 - $27.88 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
