The Internal Audit Department Great American Insurance Group is currently seeking an Information Technology (IT) Audit Intern to join our team for the Summer and/or Fall 2027 Semester(s). This individual will assist in the safeguarding of assets and the reliability of company records for American Financial Group, Great American Insurance Group, and their subsidiaries through your assistance in the performance of audits.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • You will work closely with audit management and engagement coordinators to conduct internal audit engagements at Great American Insurance Group and its subsidiaries.
  • You will participate in simple to moderately complex audits of application, operating systems, platforms, and operating procedures in accordance with the audit process/steps prescribed by management.
  • As a team member, you will assist with conducting IT audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance reviews by assisting with evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT infrastructure.
  • You will attend process walkthrough meetings and assist in identifying and testing IT and automated controls and processes in various system environments to ensure data integrity, security, and operational efficiency.
  • You will support the gathering of relevant data and help document areas of concern or potential risk. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of audit reports that outline key findings, offer recommendations, and suggest corrective actions.
  • You will collaborate with senior auditors on IT-related matters and assist in coordinating with external audit partners.
  • You will collaborate with team members to design and implement AI and agentic automation solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit activities.
  • You will meet with company leaders as part of the Summer Intern Program to learn more about their respective roles throughout the company.
  • Additionally, you will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business/Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Current/most recent GPA of 3.25 or above.
  • Campus involvement and leadership experience a plus.
  • Familiar with business systems and technology concepts. Experience with data analysis techniques a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking and technical aptitude to draw conclusions based on the information presented.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems of a moderate complexity independently.
  • Ability and willingness to work well in teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Experience with Adobe Pro and Microsoft Visio is a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis tools a plus (Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, Informatica IDCM).
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Agent building is a plus (Copilot)
