Location: Miramar, FL (serving Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach & Gulf Coast regions)

Job Overview

Liberty Elevator Corporation, a leader in the elevator and vertical transportation industry, is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager / Field Supervisor – Elevator Modernization to join our growing Florida team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in elevator modernization, construction project management, elevator installation, and field supervision.

The successful candidate will oversee elevator modernization projects from contract award through completion, while managing field operations, service mechanics, and subcontractors. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, code, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management (Modernization & Construction):

  • Manage all phases of elevator modernization and installation projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
  • Coordinate with general contractors, building owners, property managers, architects, and consultants
  • Review and interpret contract documents, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Process and manage RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and milestone tracking
  • Ensure proper procurement of elevator equipment, parts, and materials
  • Monitor project financials, including cost control, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Lead project meetings and provide progress reports to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Manage project closeout, including punch lists, inspections, turnover documentation, warranties, and training

Field Supervision & Operations:

  • Supervise and support elevator mechanics, technicians, and field crews across multiple job sites
  • Conduct job site visits, inspections, and quality control audits
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, local elevator codes, and company policies
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support for elevator systems, controllers, and components
  • Coordinate dispatching, manpower planning, and workflow optimization
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and modernization activities to ensure proper execution
  • Assist in surveying new projects, modernization opportunities, and service upgrades
  • Act as a liaison between field teams, office staff, clients, and leadership

Customer & Business Development Support:

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, building owners, and contractors
  • Support proposal development by identifying repair, modernization, and maintenance opportunities
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery
  • Participate in post-project follow-ups and client retention efforts

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in elevator modernization, elevator construction, or elevator field supervision
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, Field Supervisor, Superintendent, or Construction Manager in the elevator or related industry
  • Strong knowledge of elevator systems, controllers, electrical schematics, door equipment, and vertical transportation systems
  • Experience managing multiple construction or modernization projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA compliance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilities
  • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout South Florida
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
  • QEI (Qualified Elevator Inspector) certification a plus
