This role is an entirely remote position, utilizing telehealth platforms to connect with patients. • Conduct thorough initial evaluations of patients, understanding their unique backgrounds and mental health needs.
• Develop customized treatment plans that are adaptable and relevant, incorporating the latest evidence-based practices to address mental health and emotional disorders.
• Engage actively with patients to listen to their concerns and build therapeutic alliances essential for their recovery.
• Provide education about stress and trauma coping mechanisms to both patients and staff to elevate the overall level of care.
• Monitor patient progress diligently, revising treatment plans when necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and community agencies to facilitate supportive services for patients.
• Stay current in the field by completing required continuing education to maintain certification and enhance professional expertise.

The primary focus of this position is on trauma injury patients who face various mental and emotional hurdles stemming from their experiences. The counselor will work collaboratively with this vulnerable population, providing empathetic care and guiding individuals toward their personal goals. It is crucial to understand the nuances of trauma and apply compassionate interventions that respect each patient’s journey towards healing.

• A Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related discipline is required.
• Possession of a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• At least three years of professional experience in counseling, specifically with trauma patients.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to efficiently document patient progress and maintain records.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective patient interaction.

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and familiarity with Salesforce will give candidates a competitive edge but is not mandatory.
• Prior work in remote counseling settings is preferred to ensure comfort with telehealth technologies.
