Job description

Available Position for INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY: 
One (1) Elementary Lead Principal
Position Reports To: Deputy Superintendent
Salary/Pay Scale: Stipend (per the GASA contract) 
Assignment For: 2026-27
Basic Function:
Within the limits of District policies, procedures, programs and budgets, the Lead Principals support school and/or District administrators in enhancing their professional practice and improving student achievement. 
Essential Duties: 
 










  • Work collaboratively with the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and members of Cabinet to lead and support work related to the District Strategic Plan.
  • Develop, lead, and foster meaningful and relevant professional development for the District Leadership team (shared vision).
  • Communicate key information to GASA members and solicit feedback to inform decision-making.
  • Lead and support colleagues with the School Improvement process.
  • Problem-solve collaboratively and proactively with stakeholders and other union representatives.
  • Support the mentoring program for new GASA members and mentor new administrators.
  • Attend DCIA meetings on a rotational basis, as needed.
  • Serve on key committees as agreed upon.
  • Serve on interview committees for Building and/or District leadership positions.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the District's instructional program.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
