Job description

Saalex is seeking an Electronics Technician in Camarillo, CA. The selected candidate will support the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems supporting developmental and production programs. This position will play a critical role in building and integrating electrical subsystems, cable harnesses, sensors, telemetry equipment, power distribution systems, and communications infrastructure used in laboratory, field, and test range environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with electrical fabrication, system integration, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance activities within a government, aerospace, or defense environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Build, wire, fabricate, and integrate electrical and electronic systems for developmental and production projects.
  • Perform cable fabrication, harness assembly, and connector installation for power, signal, radio frequency (RF), and data systems.
  • Support integration of power distribution systems, embedded electronics, sensors, telemetry systems, and related subsystem components.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to support electrical system assembly, integration, testing, and iterative modifications.
  • Conduct bench testing, validation, system checkout, and performance verification using industry-standard electrical test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults, signal integrity issues, wiring discrepancies, and system integration challenges in laboratory and field environments.
  • Support installation and integration of electrical systems on testbeds, platforms, instrumentation systems, and range infrastructure.
  • Assist with developmental network and communication system setups in support of test and evaluation activities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, and sustainment of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Support test event execution, including instrumentation setup, monitoring, data collection support, and system teardown activities.
  • Maintain configuration control of electrical components, schematics, wiring diagrams, and system baselines.
  • Document wiring changes, engineering modifications, maintenance actions, and test results in accordance with program requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, electrical codes, quality requirements, and range procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as an Electronics Technician, Engineering Technician, or related technical role supporting electronic systems and equipment.
  • Experience fabricating cables, wiring harnesses, and electrical assemblies for power, signal, RF, and data systems.
  • Experience integrating electrical systems, sensors, telemetry equipment, embedded electronics, and communications systems.
  • Ability to perform electrical testing, validation, troubleshooting, and fault isolation using standard electrical test equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices, industry standards, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field required.

Desired:

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Navy, NAVAIR, test and evaluation, or defense contracting programs.
  • Experience supporting test range operations, instrumentation systems, and field testing activities.

Education:
