Job description

We are seeking a skilled ECM / ECU Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Engine Control Modules (ECMs) and Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The ideal candidate has strong electronics repair experience, including component‐level soldering, programming, and advanced diagnostics. This role is critical to restoring optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and system communication in modern vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Diagnosis:
Diagnose ECM/ECU failures using diagnostic tools, vehicle testing, and bench‐testing equipment.
Component‐Level Repair: Perform advanced repairs including BGA soldering and reballing; replace SMT and through‐hole components under a microscope.
Programming & Calibration: Program microprocessors, EEPROMs, and install software updates to ensure proper system communication.
Testing & Verification: Conduct post‐repair testing to verify correct functionality, engine performance, fuel economy, and system communication.
Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, test results, and maintenance history.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with technicians, engineers, and customer service teams to troubleshoot issues and provide repair updates.
Inventory Management: Track, order, and maintain inventory of electronic components, parts, and consumables.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), and regulatory standards at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Electronics Repair Expertise:
Strong soldering skills, including BGA work, and experience handling small components under a microscope.
Diagnostic Skills: Proficient with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic diagnostic tools.
Programming Knowledge: Experience with microprocessors, EEPROM programming, and automotive diagnostic/programming software.
Automotive Knowledge: Basic understanding of modern automotive engines and electronic systems.
Problem‐Solving Ability: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex electronic issues.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision in repairs, testing, and documentation.
Communication & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and clearly communicate technical information.
