Job description

Job Summary
The Electronic Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electronic systems and equipment in a timely and accurate manner in support of client's operational goals. This role requires hands-on technical work, strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to interpret schematics/manuals, and ensuring that all work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies, circuit boards, and modules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of electronic equipment.
  • Install new equipment and components according to technical drawings, manufacturer's instructions, and safety standards.
  • Inspect, test, and repair wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, switches, displays, and other electronic subassemblies.
  • Read, interpret, and work from circuit diagrams, blueprints, service manuals, and schematics.
  • Use test instruments (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies) to diagnose issues.
  • Solder and de-solder components, both surface mount and through-hole, as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, maintenance performed, and report progress or roadblocks to lead/supervisor.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve recurring problems, suggest improvements, and support product testing.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection, proper handling of hazardous materials, lockout/tagout procedures, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, components, and tools; order replacements when needed.
  • Assist with on-site support

Qualifications
Education & Training
  • Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in electronics repair/testing may be acceptable.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2-4 years hands-on experience with electronics repair, maintenance, or assembly.
  • Experience working with analog & digital circuits.
  • Familiarity with PCB repair, sensors, embedded systems, or other relevant component types.
Required Skills
  • Proficient with diagnostic and testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Strong soldering skills (both through-hole and surface mount).
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation.
  • Good troubleshooting/problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Other Requirements
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to lift/move moderately heavy equipment (depending on what AGM uses).
  • Must follow safety and environmental regulations.
